The deal for the murder of Saharsa JDU block president Jawahar Yadav, a resident of Bariahi, was struck for ten lakh rupees. It was decided that five lakh rupees would be paid for carrying out the crime and five lakh rupees would be paid later. The police have arrested four criminals in this case. In fact, on August 16, JDU leader Jawahar Yadav was shot dead by unknown criminals inside Mukesh Kumar Thakur’s salon near Kalali Chowk in Bariahi Bazaar. JDU block president Jawahar Prasad Yadav, father of the late Vindeshwari Yadav, was a resident of Bariahi village in Bangaon police station area.
As per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, an SIT team was formed under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sadar for the quick disclosure of the incident and the arrest of the accused. It included Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters-02, Deputy Superintendent of Police Cyber, Police Station Heads Bangaon and Saurbazar and Technical Branch. The formed team also scanned the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby to find out the entry and exit of the criminals at the scene of the incident. On the basis of technical and human information, the formed team arrested the primary named accused of this incident, Ashish Anand, from Rajoura Chowk of Bangaon police station area.
The arrested criminal admitted his involvement in the confession statement and said that apart from him, three other youths from Bariahi, namely Raja Kumar, Raviraj alias Polu and Balkishan Kumar were also involved in the incident. On the information given by the arrested criminal Ashish Anand, the three criminals involved in the incident were also arrested from near a glass factory located in Bangaon police station area.
The motorcycle used in the incident was recovered from the arrested accused and on their information, the country made pistol used in the incident and the mobile was recovered from his accomplice Brajesh Kumar and they were arrested. Regarding the reason for committing the crime, the criminals told that due to old rivalry in land dispute, Santosh Gupta alias Kancha and Naresh Gupta, son of Bhola Gupta, resident of Bariyahi Bazaar, had given a contract of 10 lakhs to kill them. They told that they would get five lakhs after committing the crime and the rest of the amount would be given later. Continuous raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused involved in this incident.
